Studies show participating in before/after school programs helps academic achievement, school attendance and positive behaviors.
The best programs offer thoughtful combinations of services that best suit the particular needs of the community they serve. That’s what Hands 4 Hope LA does!

NoHo Arts Collaborative at Lankershim Elem
Now Registering at Lankershim Elementary!
During the school year, Monday through Thursday until 6:30pm, H4H provides students with free daily snacks, one-on-one tutoring support and enrichment classes. We offer low-cost transportation to our site from 6 local public schools (Bellingham ES, Lankershim ES, Grant HS, North Hollywood HS, Madison MS, and New Horizons Charter Schools). Guitar, drums, piano, physical fitness, cooking, computer coding and Teen Club.
Whether your child has played piano for a few years, or wants to try guitar for the first time, Hands4Hope LA provides a free musical instrument to bring home and practice with for the duration of each semester of study.
Our engaged staff, volunteers and instructors create a safe and personalized learning environment to help youth build relationships as they strengthen academic skills and learn new talents. While parents and caregivers are working, Hands4Hope LA works to feel like a home away from home, partnering with families to support student social, emotional and academic needs.
In 2021, we opened a second afterschool center, at Lankershim Elementary, with our partner The H.E.ART. e offer free art, drums and piano instruction each week, and The H.E.ART offers acting and dance.
Hands4Hope LA seeks to deepen the impact of what we already know, whether a student takes guitar classes, receives tutoring, or plays basketball on our outdoor hoop, the result is the same: our students gain academic and mental health benefits from social interaction, personalized attention, educational support and enrichment classes.
